Zakázaný úder možno ukončí hneď dve kariéry

Zmiešané bojové umenia sú stále v očiach mnohých príliš brutálnym športovým odvetvím, no od jeho vzniku sa pravidlá veľmi veľakrát upravovali a vyradené boli mnohé dnes už zakázané údery. Medzi jednotlivými organizáciami sa však tieto pravidlá môžu líšiť a pri vysokých hodnotách adrenalínu sa občas bojovníkovi stane, že túžba knokautovať súpera je priveľká. Zabudnutie na zakázané údery však môže mať mimoriadne škaredé následky, ktoré cez sociálne siete ukázal Američan Boston Salmon. Ten sa v roku 2017 dostal do UFC, no prehral oba svoje zápasy, tak sa presunul do Legacy Fighting Aliance. Na debut mu ostanú hrozivé spomienky.

Súperom Salmona bol krajan Shawn West, ktorý sa sám potreboval rehabilitovať po sérii nepresvedčivých výkonov a prehier. Stále však ide o skúseného fightera, ktorý nastúpil už na svoj 27. profesionálny zápas. Preto musí vedieť, že kop na hlavu kľačiaceho súpera je dávno zakázanou technikou. Pravidlá presnejšie hovoria o troch bodoch dotýkajúcich sa zeme, pri ktorých nesmie bojovník súpera kopať do hlavy. Udierať však áno. West napriek tomu po sérii úderov na kľačiaceho súpera nabehol a trafil ho naskočeným kolenom. Salmon stratil vedomie a niekoľko desiatok sekúnd nehybne ležal na zemi, kým súper oslavoval.

Oslavy boli pomerne rýchlo pozastavené a tridsaťročný rodák z Iowy bol upovedomený, že namiesto výhry na KO mu do štatistík putuje diskvalifikačná prehra. Hoci si jeho havajský súper záver súboja nepamätá, štatistiky mu boli vylepšené na 7-3 a cez Instagram svojim fanúšikom ukázal, ako po likvidačnom kope vyzerá. "Ďakujem vám za záujem o moje zdravie. Chcem vám len dať vedieť, že sa cítim dobre, no čaká ma dlhé zotavovanie," napísal v odkaze s tým, že skončil so zlomenou očnicou, lícnou kosťou a niekoľkými stehmi. West sa mu niekoľkokrát verejne ospravedlnil a dodal, že očakáva prísny trest. Priaznivci bojových športov teraz vo veľkom diskutujú o tom, či šlo o najbrutálnejší faul v histórii tohto športu a aký trest zaň padne. Pokiaľ sa zohľadní najprísnejší meter, West bude možno nútený zmeniť profesiu. Pre Salmona to môže byť po rýchlom vypadnutí z UFC silný signál k tomu, aby zvážil svoje profesionálne pokračovanie v klietke.

We believe Boston is a special talent and is able to compete with the best in the world. His stent in the UFC did not go as planned because it was determined by physicians that the weight cut to bantamweight was too extreme for him to be able to perform to his ability. We were extremely excited to restart Boston’s run at featherweight with @lfafighting and get him back to a big show. Boston was in control of this fight and just settling into his range and timing in the 2nd round when both he and his opponent, Shawn West, landed simultaneous hooks causing both to be flashed and knocked down. As Boston was getting back to his feet he was hit with an illegal knee that ended the night. What we have to focus on here first and foremost is Boston‘s health. The knee landed with incredible force and caused Boston to suffer a broken orbital and cheek bone. Aside from the DQ we feel there should be disciplinary actions enforced by the commision to set a higher precedence on these types of fouls. There was no question about the legality of the knee and Boston was awarded the win at the end of the contest. It goes without saying that this is not the way Boston wanted the fight to be determined. As a team we are sitting down with Boston and his family to discuss what we want to do moving forward. Boston would like to thank LFA and their staff for getting him back on stage and giving him the opportunity to perform. For now Boston is going to undergo further examination and we will determine the next steps as we go. #bossteam
